Me Me Me!! In Meerut we had a South Indian helper and every Tuesday he will serve the food in Banana leaves and it used to be our most exciting lunch of the week :D he could even make spoons and katori from banana leaves :|

Ohh well we northies still lack knowledge of South Indian Cuisine...its always dosa, idly & vada.....the sambar & rasam of each state tastes different....Wish you come to Banglaore & then surely we can plan to visit this place....yaa eating on a plantain leaf is a diff experience.

Do you know even Nepalese have their festive feast on banana leaves too.
As a kid I never used to like South Indian food..but now I am a big fan, specially of rassam and non-veg/sea food....though I still don't like idlis much :)

Hey, you too r in blore!!
Well, most amazing is in Nagarjuna they serve Biryani on plantain leaves; yummy!

True@ most ppl think Idli dosa and vadas are staple diet of south indians... no clue about other veggies dishes like pachati, olan, aviyal, thoran..
Try out aapams instead of dosas sometime .. Ppl who like noodles, try Idiappam with stew .. yumm..
oh well.. I've only listed some of kerala cuisine and you can now the endless things they make in Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Andhra
