As far as about the controversy regarding this picture, here are my views:
We tend to believe that if we see a poor guy then he must be unhappy. The fact is that poor countries are more happier than rich countries. Acc. to UN, Nigeria is the happiest country despite being the poorest while US came at 18th spot. Money always doesn't mean happiness.
There is a good chance that this guy is more satisfied with his life than any one of us.
I see this guy as old person enjoying the simple things in life like sun and fresh air.
